This is the first floating mosque in Indonesia. This mosque named ‘Amirul Mukminin Mosque’ this mosque is located on the coast of Losari waterfront which is very famous as a tourist spot in Makassar..
 99 Al-Makazzary stands on 1,608 meters of sea water using 164 poles. The process, has been running since May 8, 2009.
There are two domes with a diameter of 9 meters below which visitors can use the place to relax and rest with a gust of beach breeze. The community can go up the domee through two side stairs that surround the mosque. The building by combining the concepts of modern, contemporary and Islamic, Masjid 99 Al Makazzary looks beautiful standing on the surface of the sea.
 this mosque was inaugurated by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, on December 21, 2012. At that time, Jusuf Kalla served as Chair of the Indonesian Mosque Council.
This mosque was built because of the idea of the mayor of Makassar who wanted to enrich the landmark city of Makassar City and religious tourism in this city. Although the concept is simple but extraordinary, where the combination of tours in the form of scenery and religious aspects is packed into a beautiful moment. Imagine when you are waiting for Maghrib prayer, sunset accompanies you with a beautiful view.
The location close to the iconic beach in the city of Makassar makes this mosque is a must when you visit Losari waterfront.
Apart from worshiping and enjoying the beauty of the Amir al-mu'minin Mosque, you can also take pictures around the bridge and the wide courtyard. The beautiful scenery can definitely make you get nice photos to beautify your Instagram feed.


Beautiful Architecture Plus Full Sunset Charm
This mosque consists of three floors, besides functioning as a worship facility, it will also become a tourist place. One floor, which is below the dome, can be occupied by residents doing recreation, especially seeing the sunset of Losari waterfront which still occupies the most beautiful sunset in Indonesia.
The top floor of the mosque is a special place for visitors who want to carry out their own prayers which are more solemn. The second floor of the mosque is specifically used for women's congregations and the lower floors for male congregational prayers. On the lower floor there is also a male ablution place on the right, while for the women is to the left of the mosque.
Usually, many people come to see the beauty of the mosque while waiting for the sun to sink (sunset) by enjoying typical Makassar food, Pisang Epek who then runs the Magrib prayer in congregation.
In addition, this mosque which can accommodate 500 worshipers is a symbol of the pride of the people of Makassar, which symbolizes the meaning of Islam, greatness and pride.

Because it is on the coast of Losari waterfront , the access to this mosque is as easy as going to Losari waterfront. Losari waterfront is a tourism object is in the heart of Makassar City, precisely on Jalan Penghibur.
As for access to Losari Beach,If you are from Hasanuddin Airport, the trip can be reached in 45 minutes.
